Center for Irish Studies
The
University of St. Thomas approved the establishment of the Center for Irish
Studies on April 4, 2002. The Center, a major funding initiative for the Irish
Society, opened on January 23, 2003, at the Irish Society's Annual Meeting.
Irish Society Board Member and UST faculty member Lori Meghan Gallagher was
appointed Director of the Center for Irish Studies.
Since its foundation, The Center has presented many lectures and performances
and participated in St. Patrick's Day activities and in the Irish Society /
Center for Irish Studies Gala.
The Center for Irish Studies is affiliated with The American Conference for
Irish Studies (An Chomhdháil Mheiriceánach do Léann na hÉireann), which serves
as a coordinating body for Irish Studies programs throughout the United States.
They maintain a current list of programs throughout the country.
