Center for Irish Studies

The University of St. Thomas approved the establishment of the Center for Irish Studies on April 4, 2002. The Center, a major funding initiative for the Irish Society, opened on January 23, 2003, at the Irish Society's Annual Meeting. Irish Society Board Member and UST faculty member Lori Meghan Gallagher was appointed Director of the Center for Irish Studies.

Since its foundation, The Center has presented many lectures and performances and participated in St. Patrick's Day activities and in the Irish Society / Center for Irish Studies Gala.

The Center for Irish Studies is affiliated with The American Conference for Irish Studies (An Chomhdháil Mheiriceánach do Léann na hÉireann), which serves as a coordinating body for Irish Studies programs throughout the United States. They maintain a current list of programs throughout the country.
